How was the tournament arranged?
The tournament was arranged by the captain of the Maunos team, Collete Praise Dlamini. She is the one who communicated with our captain Mihlali Nxumalo and other teams. The teams that were invited to the tournament were Cecil S Elites, Msholozi Stars and Amalia.
How was the tournament?
Despite the fact that games are typically intense, our first game went well we were able to pull out a great score; there were no disruptions. Things started heating up in the second game, and we had commotions with the team we were playing with, which is Maunos, because we had different scorekeepers; their score was different from ours. They gave themselves four extra points and minus one point from our score, making it a draw while we were the ones leading the game. There was a lack of communication between our team and the Maunos team.
What were the scores from the first match till the finals?
First match: Cecil S Elites VS Amelia. Score 11-7
Second match: Maunos Titans VS Msholozi Stars. Score 1- 17
Third match: Cecil S Elites VS Maunos Titans. Score 16 – 12
Final match: We did not reach the finals because of the conflict that took place between Cecil S Elites and Maunos Titans. They refused to write down the correct scores, only agreed to add 5minutes to the game, then they scored one point and we scored two points.
Thanks to our goal shooter (GS) Mihlali Nxumalo and goal attacker (GA) Karabo Miya.
What will help our team improve?
Having a netball court will help us have daily practices, improving our playing skills, even if it's only poles. During our we have realized that we are short of netball equipment such as water bottles, whistles, balls, and energy drinks.
Our netball kit only has small sizes, which impacts other players, and we have players of different sizes. It doesn’t look good for our team because other players play in their casual clothes.
