BUILDINGS NAMING COMPETITION

Cecil Complex is on a verge of renaming the residence buildings to rebrand the residences to be more authentic and homely to the students. Therefore, this will create a sense of belonging and enhance the culture among the residents.


Students are encouraged to participate in submitting their views and suggestions on the names of the building, to win a prize.


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Competition may be completed by a student residing in any Cecil Complex residence.

  2. A student staying in another residence within Cecil Complex is allowed to suggest a/the name(s) to other residences.

  3. The names suggested must revolve around plants, animals, attraction, cultural idioms and architecture/amenity.

  4. Names that are controversial or political will not be accepted.


PRIZE:

  1. The winner for the selected name and reasoning shall win R500.

  2. A person is allowed to win more then one prize based on the richness and creativeness of the suggestions.

My own option about the competition of renaming the complex. I think it have nothing to do whith the students residing on that ress, because firstly it doesn't show professionalism to the market team to even suggest this idea on the first place, not that I'm saying student should be pressurized on coming out whith a company name that will possibly last for atleast a decade just because there's a price for it, but the fact of that particular student won't have any relations with the ress after the end of their career studies in about 4 to maybe 7 years tops... students focusing on this competition could mean they are cost the time and energy they could be using…
